Titanic launches on the Weather Channel
Look out for the Weather Channel episode of "When Weather Changed History" Titanic, on Oct. 19, 9 p.m. ET
April 14, 1912. On her maiden voyage, the "unsinkable" RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in the cold North Atlantic. The unusual weather and abundance of floating icebergs on the North Atlantic Ocean plays a major role in this infamous tragedy. Transatlantic travel is changed forever as a result with new safety guidelines and the establishment of the International Ice Patrol.

Deirdre Hayes plays Titanic survivor Anna Turja, a young Finnish girl heading to America to join her sister and start a new life.
Anna Sophia Turja was one of 21 children born of two mothers and one father in Oulainen,in the Oulu province of Finland. Anna is played by Deirdre Hayes seen below on on the set of The Weather Chanel production of the Titanic episide of The Weather Channel, When the Weather Changed History, Titanic episode to be televised on Oct. 19, 9 p.m. ET 2008

The Swim Dress
The sketch to the the right shows an early design for the swim dress. The J. Peterman sketch on the left shows the final verson.
In the following clip, costume designer Deborah Scott talks about the dress worn by Kate Winslet's character, Rose DeWitt Bukater, in the sinking scenes. The clip shows Kate Winslet modeling the early design. The final version of the dress is shown in scenes from the production of the movie.
